Apply artificial intelligence to assess risk of diabetes
Development of an artificial intelligence entity to assess risk of diabetes
The Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) has developed a score-based risk assessment, CANRISK that pharmacists can use to help patients identify their risk of pre-diabetes or type 2 diabetes. This normally requires a form to be filled out by the patient or a pharmacist to go through the questions with the patient. Lampyon has developed a voice based alternative powered by artificial intelligence (AI) that is much easier to access. Patients simply call a regular local phone number and have a 5-minute conversation with Rodney, an entitiy powered by AI, responding to questions. Rodney then calculates a risk score, provides an assessment and can hand over to Diabetes Canada to address further questions with human counseling.
Artificial intelligence is an extremely advanced, powerful and effective tool that can be applied in a wide range of scenarios to augment human support!
